Pippa isn’t really my ‘stamp’ of horse! She was bought by a friend of mine from Avonmill Equestrian to hunt and do some riding club activities whilst I offered to do a little BE with her if she turned out to be suitable. Hunting in Cornwall was not suited for Pippa but it soon turned out she was extremely scopey and bold with the potential to do well in all three elements of the horse trials. Sadly my friend didn’t have the time to give her and put her up for sale. I nearly didn’t buy her but after much soul searching I added her to the Shoestring string!

Pippa is actually pretty low mileage, she was an unbroken broodmare in Holland until she was 7. She is one of the scopiest horses I have sat on and is happily jumping 1.20m tracks show jumping. She started her BE career in May 2011 at BE100 and after only 2 events was upgraded to Novice where she consistently improved all season and finished with two placings and 3 points.

At home she is a bit of a stress head and likes to know what is going on. In her way though she is a gentle giant and a real softy.
